Our waiter was so nice and helpful. Drinks were good. Many places can't get their salsa right but this place def did.I was about to order the Pollo Relleno based on reviews but waiter suggested the next option on menu which was seared chicken and it was a much better & healthier choice for me. It was v good & flavorful. My husband got the short ribs which he really liked. We didn't order dessert but they brought out churros w a candle for my husbands birthday. We aren't dessert ppl but these were warm & so delic. We will def return.
I have gone to caracara a number of times. The food and service is always good! The table side guac is delicious and the enchiladas and chicken tacos are good as are the margaritas. My favorite is the natural margarita!
Really lovely place with great service. Had passed this place a couple of times and am glad i got a chance to stop by. Pretty authentic good tasting Mexican food. My fish tacos with Mahi Mahi were delish and the sangria was quite good too although a bit strong (!) Date had the chicken plaza tacos but said the "adobe seasoning" which the chicken was seasoned with was sort of bland. The rice was also surprisingly good. Our waiter was kind and attentive and the ambiance here is romantic. Would be back again
I've had food at plenty of Mexican restaurants this one was decent. Not amazing but by no means bad. They had some really good guac and salsa. Chips were good. I had fish tacos which were also good. Solid 3.5-4. Every one else seems to enjoy as well. I'd go again if I was in area and everyone wanted Mexican
Caras Mex Grill is an upscale mex joint that will impress. Clearly a nice place when you walk in with fresh made guacamole at the table. Great for a large group, bring the entire extended family. The staff is nice attentive and great. We got frozen margs, a bunch of food, the big standouts were the Queso Fundido - this queso is unlike any other and a must get, the Alambre Asado steak chorizo skewer was not what I expected and impressed with the flavor combo and all the meat, for desert the hazelnut brownie was wow good with a ton of real hazelnuts on it, it's like ferro Roche made a brownie but better I'm short: -Upscale Mexican - Good for large groups - Good food - Good Margs
One of my favorites! I've never been disappointed here. They make the guacamole fresh for you at the table and you can choose the level of spicy. We started with guac, calamari and empanadas which were all fantastic. Followed by the chicken tacos which were delicious. I had the Cadillac margarita which was tasty (and strong!). The prices are reasonable and the staff was very attentive. I highly recommend Caracara for delicious food and quality service
Atmosphere very nice. Service, just a little slow. Staff very friendly and courteous. Drinks, not that great. Food, it's ok. Nothing I would drive out of the way for. if I was in town again I would give them another shot. Very unusual rice with hubbies dinner. It was a green cilantro rice , good flavor but it had sunflower seeds or some kind of seed mixed in. My fish tacos were good. Could have used a little more of the pickled onions on each taco. Kids quesadilla had good flavor and was a decent size.
I had to come all the way from Southern California to find a Mexican restaurant that I really, really like. Granted, I already know I love Besito, but I like Mexican food enough to find more than one place to love. Problem is they're both on L.I. One would think I could easily get great Mexican food in SoCal, but you'd be surprised. Not so easy at all. CaraCara has delicious food. In addition to having great "guac," I ordered their Budin de Mariscos, which is a layered tortilla pie filled with lump crab, shrimp, charred scallion & black beans. It's then baked in butternut squash chipotle salsa & topped with Chihuahua cheese & tortilla strips. Very unusual and totally delicious. I loved it !! I can't get anything remotely this unique, nor tasty back home. We used to travel over an hour to Santa Barbara to get our Mexican food fix, and then, that place closed for good. So now, I'm going to have to travel 3,000 miles to get my fix. I'm totally willing !!
